The Full 12-month Power Up Roadmap
The 12-month K–Active Play Roadmap – From Physical Foundation to Independent Mastery
Part 1: The 22-Week Power Up Foundation
Phase 1: The Foundations of Movement (Weeks 1–4) Primary Goal: Building Safety, Comfort, and Initial Coordination.
The Focus: Developing the core motor skills required for healthy, confident movement. We begin with essential patterns that build a sense of physical “ease.”
The Approach: We remove the pressure of “gym-style” environments. By ensuring every movement is safe and mastered at their own pace, we eliminate the anxiety many children feel regarding physical activity.
The Outcome: A baseline of balance and coordination that provides the first tangible boost to their self-esteem.
Phase 2: Stability, Strength & Discipline (Weeks 5–8)
Primary Goal: Increasing Resilience and Physical Control.
The Focus: Transitioning into structured routines designed to build core strength and postural stability.
The Approach: We move beyond basic movement into “Time Under Tension.” By focusing on controlled, deliberate movements, we teach the child how to manage physical challenge with a calm, disciplined mind.
The Outcome: Improved posture, better energy regulation, and the pride that comes from overcoming physical challenges through persistence.
Phase 3: Social Integration & Self-Assurance (Weeks 9–12)
Primary Goal: Translating Physical Strength into Social Confidence. The Focus: This is the most rewarding phase. We introduce higher-intensity circuits that test their stamina and technical mastery in a supportive environment.
The Approach: We bridge the gap between exercise and real-world confidence. We use “Social Assignments” where the child applies their new physical poise to help them navigate social interactions with their head held high.
The Outcome: A visible shift in personality. Your child develops the mindset and presence to view activity as a natural, permanent, and enjoyable part of their life.
Phase 4: The 10-Week Habit Integration (Weeks 13–22)
Goal: Long-Term Sustainability & Lifestyle Independence.
The Evolution: The physical training does not end; it evolves. This phase is about taking the strength gained in Part 1 and weaving it into the fabric of daily life. The System: We utilize a proven method called “Habit Stacking.” Every two weeks, one small, foundational lifestyle behaviour is introduced.
The Result: By the end of these 10 weeks, health and activity are no longer “tasks” to be completed—they are part of who your child is.
Part 2: The Path to Mastery
Phase 5: Intermediate Catalyst (Weeks 23–38)
Goal: Multi-Skill Development & Coordination. Building upon the Power Up foundation, we transition into multi-skill practices. This stage focuses on connecting movement with improved coordination and fluid motor skills, ensuring the child remains engaged and challenged as they grow.
Phase 6: Advanced Mastery (Weeks 39–52)
Goal: Physical Capability and Social Presence.
This final phase focuses on increasing the child’s physical capabilities by introducing more difficult exercises and complex routines. These sessions challenge their motor skills and coordination at a higher level, with the aim of transferring this competence into their daily lives. By becoming more proficient in demanding physical tasks, children often find they can participate more comfortably in school sports and group activities. This stage is designed to provide the child with the physical tools and the confidence to engage more naturally in social settings, helping them to carry themselves with an upright, “heads-up” posture as they navigate their daily environment.
